On March 17, AmCham Egypt, Inc. in partnership with the U.S.-Egypt Business Council hosted a roundtable featuring Ayman Soliman, Chief Executive Officer, The Sovereign Fund of Egypt. The roundtable featured welcoming remarks by AmCham Egypt, Inc. CEO Hisham Fahmy and the U.S. Chamber's Senior Vice President for International Development and Middle East Affairs Khush Choksy. The discussion centered around tourism, healthcare, financial technology, agriculture technology, and education. Mr. Soliman discussed the Sovereign Fund’s goals to rediscover and reimagine Egypt. He also stated that “universal healthcare [in Egypt] is dependent on private sector engagement.” Soliman added that that they are investing in traditional and renewable energy in addition to highlighting the critical role of the private sector in desalination, power generation, and water recycling in Egypt. Opportunities for investment in green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green bunkering were also raised during this discussion.
